1991年，在以色列，一个犹太家庭的一个兄弟去世了，全家人来到死者的家里，在老母亲的带领下举丧7天。每个人都必须遵守犹太教的传统，不准吃肉、所有的镜子都必须遮盖起来、不能离开公用的厅堂……。在封闭的空间里，气氛很快变得非常沉闷。兄弟姐妹加上各自的配偶，日夜被迫互相忍受，抱怨和争吵不久就取代了哀悼，压抑多年的金钱争执、怨恨、尚未愈合的创伤重新浮上台面。本片以幽默和自嘲手法描述一个犹太家庭，今年5月曾在戛纳电影节“国际影评周”单元作为开幕片。
